Is Candy AI free? Partly, and that is good news if you just want a taste. You can join free, try the basic features and watch episodes 1 and 2 of every Candy Shorts series without paying. The full experience, including everything from episode 3 onward, needs Premium.
Below, we break down what is free, what is not, whether there is a Candy AI free trial and how to get the most from the free version before you spend a cent.
Is Candy AI free? What the free account includes
Candy AI calls it “Join Free”. You create a free account and try the basic features before you decide on an upgrade. With a free Candy AI account you get:
- A free account to explore Candy AI’s basic features.
- Episodes 1 and 2 of every Candy Shorts series, across 125+ series.
- Quick episodes to sample: each one runs under 2 minutes.

Candy AI free vs Premium: what you can and cannot do
Is Candy AI free for everything? No. This table shows where the free account stops and Premium starts.
| Feature | Free account | Premium |
|---|---|---|
| Create an account (Join Free) | Yes | Yes |
| Candy Shorts episodes 1 and 2 | Free to watch | Free to watch |
| Candy Shorts episode 3 onward | Locked | Unlocked |
| Chat, characters and image tools | Basic features to try | Full experience |
| Monthly tokens | Buy separately if needed | 100 included every month |
| Cost | Free | From $3.99 a month |
That $3.99 is the 12-month plan, billed $47.88 per year. Every plan is on our Candy AI pricing page.
Is there a Candy AI free trial?
We could not verify a classic Candy AI free trial, the kind where you get Premium for a few days at no charge. So we will not promise one. What does exist is a free account plus free episodes 1 and 2 of every series. That is the safest way to test Candy AI without paying.
When you do pick a plan, it renews automatically, but you can cancel anytime from your account settings. So you can try the 1-month plan at $13.99 as a short test and switch renewal off before the next billing date.
If another site offers a “free trial” or “free Premium”, be careful. Our guide on whether Candy AI is safe lists the red flags.

▶Free Candy AI offers: myths and red flags
Searches for free Candy AI bring up some risky promises. Here is what to ignore:
- “Free Premium” for life. We have not verified any such offer. Plans are paid and renew automatically.
- Free token generators. Tokens are bought through your own Candy AI account, never through a third-party tool.
- Leaked episodes. Leak sites are risky and unfair to creators. The legal free route is episodes 1 and 2. Read Candy AI Shorts leaked? for the risks.
Is it worth upgrading to Premium?
So, is Candy AI free enough for you? For sampling, yes. For binge-watching, not quite. If you finish episodes 1 and 2 and need to know what happens next, Premium is the way in. It also includes 100 tokens every month and the full chat experience.
- Upgrade if you are hooked on a series, want the full chat experience or want monthly tokens for extras.
- Stay free if you only wanted to sample the style, or you have already watched the free episodes of the series you cared about.
Our take: the 12-month plan is the best value at $3.99 a month, and the 1-month plan is the lowest-commitment way to test Premium. Tokens are a separate extra, covered in our Candy AI tokens guide.
