Candy AI tokens are the in-app credits that pay for the extras: images, voice, video and, inside the Candy AI app, locked Candy Shorts episodes. Every Premium plan includes 100 tokens a month, and Premium members can top up with extra tokens from their account. This guide shows what tokens are, what they buy and how to make them last.
What are Candy AI tokens?
If you are wondering what are Candy AI tokens, think of arcade credits. Premium is your pass to the full Candy AI experience. Tokens are what you spend on the extras on top of it.
You do not need tokens to start. A free account lets you try basic features and watch episodes 1 and 2 of every Candy Shorts series. Tokens matter later, when you want more.
What can you use Candy AI tokens for?
- Images: pictures and photos from your AI characters.
- Voice: hear characters answer with voice messages.
- Video: short video replies from the characters you chat with.
- Locked Candy Shorts episodes: in the Candy AI app, 12 tokens per episode in regular series and 30 tokens per episode in Creator series.
- Similar extras in Candy AI’s chat and creation tools.

Candy Shorts tokens: how far do 100 tokens go?
Episodes 1 and 2 of every series are free, so Candy Shorts tokens only matter for locked episodes. From episode 3 you need Premium, and in the Candy AI app locked episodes are unlocked with tokens. Here is what your monthly tokens buy if you spend them only on locked episodes:

Most series have 5 episodes, which leaves three locked after the free two. At 12 tokens each, finishing a regular 5-episode series costs 36 tokens, so your monthly tokens cover two of them with a few to spare. A 5-episode Creator series costs 90.
Quick tip: Creator series cost 30 tokens per episode against 12 for regular ones, which is more than double. Check the series type before you unlock anything.
How to buy Candy AI tokens
Extra tokens are for Premium members. With a free account, the Tokens option in the Candy AI account menu takes you to the Premium plans first. Once you are on Premium:
- Log in to your Candy AI account.
- Open the account menu (top right) and choose Tokens.
- Pick the amount you want and read the price on screen.
- Confirm your purchase, then check your balance before you go back to watching or chatting.
Heads up: buying extra tokens needs a Premium plan, and Premium already includes 100 tokens every month. Token packs and prices are set by Candy AI and can change, so always check the amount before you pay.
Candy AI token cost: what we can and cannot tell you
People often ask about the Candy AI token cost, so we will be straight with you. We do not list token pack prices, because Candy AI sets them and they may change. What we can confirm is how many tokens things use: 12 per locked regular episode and 30 per Creator episode.
Premium already includes 100 tokens a month, so use those before you buy any extra.
Premium, tokens or both: which do you need?
Tokens are an add-on, not a replacement for Premium. Here is how we would think about it:
- Just curious? Stay on a free account. Episodes 1 and 2 of every series cost nothing.
- Want to keep watching? Premium opens episode 3 onward and includes 100 tokens a month. Plans start at $3.99 a month.
- Want lots of extras? Spend your included tokens first, then top up from the Tokens menu when you run out (Premium only).

- Use your monthly tokens before buying more. The 100 included tokens arrive every month with Premium.
- Pick one goal per month. Finishing a series, or extras like images and voice? Decide first so your tokens do not vanish.
- Check the cost before you confirm. Look at the token cost shown before any unlock or extra.
